Adopt Mia

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

If you're looking for a dog who will happily join you on your adventures before curling up for a cuddle on the sofa, then Mia could be the perfect match. Mia friendly, playful, and affectionate girl with a zest for life and a love for her people. Mia loves getting out and about, exploring new places, and taking in all the sights and smells on her walks. She's an active girl who would thrive in a home that enjoys the outdoors and can provide her with regular adventures. While she can sometimes become excited by other dogs, people, or wildlife, she is responsive to her handler and continues to make great progress with guidance and encouragement. When the adventures are over, Mia is more than happy to enjoy some downtime. She absolutely loves cuddles and affection, often seeking out her favourite people for a fuss and some quality snuggle time. She also enjoys toys, enrichment activities, and puzzle games that keep her clever mind busy. Although Mia can appear a little shy when meeting new people, she quickly warms up and soon shows her affectionate side, due to her shy nature, Mia is looking for an adult only home. She is eager to learn, enjoys training sessions, and is highly motivated by food, making her a fun and rewarding companion to work with. Mia would benefit from a home with some previous dog experience that can continue to build her confidence and help her practise polite greetings around people and dogs. She is looking for a home that can offer a good balance of exercise, enrichment, and relaxation. Due to her history and social style, Mia would prefer to be the only pet in the home, allowing her adopters to focus on helping her flourish and enjoy all the attention to herself. Mia is a loving, loyal girl with so much to offer. For someone willing to invest a little time and guidance, she'll repay you with endless affection, companionship, and plenty of happy adventures together. About Adopt Mia

What life with Adopt Mia looks like

Adopt Mia is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hope Rescue in Pontyclun.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Adopt Mia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Adopt Mia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hope Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Adopt Mia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Adopt Mia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hope Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Adopt Mia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Adopt Mia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hope Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Adopt Mia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
