All dogs Bibo Print Published: March 11, 2026 Date of Birth: estimated June 2022 Gender: male Breed: Mix Shoulder Height: to be added later Weight: 18.3 kg We took in the male dog Bibo on November 23, 2024, from our partner organization "Tierhilfe-Hoffnung." Bibo is an approximately 3.5-year-old mixed breed. Before "Tierhilfe Hoffnung" took him in, he lived on the streets of Romania. We then took him in in November 2024. He is a very friendly, curious, but also calm dog. He wants to meet new people immediately and enjoys every one of their cuddles. In December 2024, he was able to accompany our children and youth animal protection group because he gets along well with children. He is also very compatible with other dogs, which is why he has no problem living in larger dog groups here. It is incredibly beautiful and funny to see how he wrinkles his nose and cheekily grins when he knows someone is about to come into his enclosure. Walks: Sometimes Bibo walks perfectly beside you and is interested in all the impressions there are to gather outside. Other times, a small moment at the door is enough for him, and sometimes you have to persuade him to continue walking because he is a bit afraid of the path. In any case, we can say that the better he knows you, the more enjoyable the walk becomes. Additionally, we are very happy that Bibo's jaw lock could be released. When he was admitted, he still suffered from severe atrophy of the jaw muscles. Today, he has no restrictions when eating, barking, or doing anything else related to his jaw. Bibo is delighted by each of your visits, where you give him time and attention. Would you like to meet Bibo? Then please call for more information and/or to arrange a visit to the animal shelter at our shelter. It would be best to call in the morning between 9:00 and 12:00.

About Bibo

What life with Bibo looks like

Bibo is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Alsfeld in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bibo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bibo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Alsfeld handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bibo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bibo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Alsfeld will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bibo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bibo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Alsfeld early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bibo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
