Bob

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Adult · 4 years

Tomcat Bob was born around 2022 and came to us as a found kitten on April 26, 2022, from Bad Wünnenberg. The tomcat was noticed at a feeding station due to his severe injury on his mouth and nose. It is suspected that the wound came from a bite. He underwent another operation where the wound edges were cleaned and the nostrils were opened. Of course, it still looks spectacular, but Bob - unlike humans - does not mind. He can drink and eat just like any other cat. Bob is very people-oriented and clingy and would have likely been raised by people at some point. However, he had not been neutered, and there was no missing pet report. In the cat apartment, the attached tomcat is now getting along very well. He is compatible with fellow animals and avoids any trouble. He has especially become very friendly with Mr. Sparkles. Since Bob is used to having some freedom, he might not want to give it up in his new home. We hope that his "extraordinary" appearance will not become an adoption obstacle. This cat needs outdoor access. Gets along with other dogs. This animal is not yet neutered/spayed.

About Bob

What life with Bob looks like

Bob is a large adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierheim Paderborn in Paderborn.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bob, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bob?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Paderborn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bob on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bob if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Paderborn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bob already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bob isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Paderborn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bob and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
