Bob

Mixed Breed · Male

Temperament: Bob is a TTB breed dog looking for a responsible home that understands the needs and character of bull breeds. This is a dog that requires time, patience, and consistency. In the first contact, he responds with barking and may try to scare people away - he sometimes bites clothing with his teeth or pushes people away by jumping. However, once a relationship is established, he shows a completely different side - he is happy around known people and comes willingly for affection. He has a strong bond with his volunteers, with whom he works regularly and fully trusts. Bob really likes all kinds of scent activities: mats, chew toys, scent and exploratory games. They give him great satisfaction and help him calm down. He copes well on a leash - he does not pull, maintains contact with the caregiver and responds to calls. Walks with him are calm and pleasant, especially in a familiar environment. However, in new situations, he may react with fear. Bob is afraid of loud noises, such as passing trains or buses. Sudden, unknown noises also cause him stress. Therefore, he requires a calm, predictable environment and a caregiver who can provide him with a sense of security. In the past, aversive methods were used with Bob, which led to the appearance of fear aggression in a home environment. Now he works with volunteers using positive methods, which produce good results. We are looking for a home for Bob: - experienced in working with TTB dogs, - using only positive training methods, - patient, calm and consistent, - ready to work on the dog's relationship and confidence. Bob will best find himself in a quiet home, without small children and without an excess of stimuli. He can live in a house with a garden or an apartment, if he is provided with a daily dose of movement and mental activities.

Usposobienie: Bob to pies w typie TTB, który szuka odpowiedzialnego domu znającego potrzeby i charakter ras typu bull. To pies wymagający czasu, cierpliwości i konsekwencji. Dla Boba szukamy domu: – doświadczonego w pracy z psami typu TTB, – stosującego wyłącznie pozytywne metody szkoleniowe, – cierpliwego, spokojnego i konsekwentnego, – gotowego do pracy nad relacją i pewnością siebie psa.

About Bob

What life with Bob looks like

Bob is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu in Poznan.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bob, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bob?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bob on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bob if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bob already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bob isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Poznaniu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bob and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
