Buzz

Labrador Retriever · Male · Young · 3 years

Buzz is a busy bee who loves to use his brain. He is a smart young lad who is full of character and love. Buzz likes to have cuddles and will lean into his handlers when having a fuss. He loves rope toys and playing tug, afterwards he happily runs around and amuses himself with various toys and balls. He would play all day, every day if he could! We have no history for Buzz as he came to us as a stray; however, it is clear he was once very loved. He knows a few commands and is super eager to learn. He loves to snuggle up in a nice, cosy bed. Buzz is full of life and would be a brilliant member of the family! Meet Buzz, a 3-year-old Labrador x German Shepherd cross. Buzz’s ideal home would be active and engaged in his ongoing training, a family that is all about the dog. He is looking for adopters who have had previous dog experience, preferably with German Shepherds or GSD crosses. Buzz has a big personality and would love adopters who can help him thrive in home life. He is ready for plenty of adventures with his family, ready to make everlasting memories with adopters who can enrich his life to the max! Buzz should be the only dog in the home so he can soak up all of that attention. He is suitable to live with dog-savvy older secondary children and could have visiting children around the same age. Buzz loves people and making new friends, so he could have regular visitors; however, this should be kept minimal to start while he settles in.

About Buzz

What life with Buzz looks like

Buzz is a large young adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Dogs Trust Harefield in Harefield.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Buzz, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Buzz?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Harefield handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Buzz on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Buzz if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Harefield will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Buzz already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Buzz isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Harefield early rather than rehoming privately; they know Buzz and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
