Cera ID-Nr: 1046379 Breed: German Shepherd-mixed-breed female dog Age: *ca. 02.2025 Gender: female Height: ca. 45 cm Spayed/Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry Form Cera – Young Power Woman Seeks Athletic Challenge Cera (*ca. 02.2025, ca. 45 cm) is a young, black German Shepherd-mixed-breed female dog who immediately impresses with her energy and attentive appearance. Her story began on the streets, where she was found together with her brother Petrie. She was likely an unwanted puppy that simply grew too big and became too demanding, leading to her being abandoned. Meanwhile, Cera has developed into a real personality at our Spanish partner shelter Triple A. While she was initially unsure in interactions with fellow animals and expressed her overstimulation through barking, she is currently learning important lessons about communication and boundaries in a social dog group. She greatly benefits from the guidance of experienced senior dogs. Cera is currently a typical “teenie” with a lot of temperament, she is a little explorer who sometimes still needs to learn how to channel her energy in the right directions. What sets Cera apart is her enormous willingness to learn. She grasps new tasks quickly and loves being mentally challenged. Whether it’s agility, obedience training, or nose work, Cera is on fire. During outings, she already shows her best side, she rides calmly in the car, remains relaxed in her transport box, and walks obediently on the leash, even when the environment is new and exciting. She always keeps a close bond with her primary caregiver, who she definitely needs. For Cera, we are looking for people who enjoy active work with the dog. She is not a female dog for casual walks, but wants a task. A house with a garden would be ideal so she can fully unleash her sprinting phase. Cera can be rehomed as a single dog, provided she has regular contact with other dogs in dog training classes or in the family, she would also be happy with a more experienced single dog from whom she can continue to learn! If there are children in the household, they should already be over 12 years old and well-handled with dogs. For those seeking a loyal, highly intelligent companion and willing to invest time in her further education, Cera will be a partner who will never make it boring. Cera has an EU pet passport and is of course microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, tested for Mediterranean diseases, dewormed, and treated for fleas. About Cera

What life with Cera looks like

Cera is a puppy/kitten german shepherd dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cera, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cera?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cera on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cera if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cera already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cera isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cera and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
