Race Name:Details:Breeding:About: Strongarm Chaser Trained by Donald McCain Chaser had 7 starts, but racing was not for him. Approx 16hh D.O.B 19th March 2015 Sire: Footstepsinthesand (GB) Dam: Sarawati (IRE) Chaser is working well and stands out in a crowd. He is approx 16hh and could go a long way in the right hands. He had a racing injury, but he has been fully rehabbed with some time out and has now returned to work with a real zest for life. Chaser is working nicely in the school and enjoys hacking around the village, usually taking the lead and showing confidence when passing farm machinery and vehicles. Leading and Ground Manners – Level 1 Chaser is straightforward and sensible to lead from a head collar. Grooming and Tacking Up – Level 1 Chaser enjoys attention and will stand all day to be groomed. Horse Care – Level 1 Chaser only requires routine vet care. Previously he had been living out and schooling without shoes but since he has progressed to hacking he has benefited from having front shoes on. Riding – Level 2 Chaser is forward going and very responsive to ride. He can have a sharp spook but goes back to being relaxed straight after. Chaser has hacked around the village with another horse and will take the lead past tractors, dogs etc. General Demeanour – Level 1 Chaser is generally calm, agreeable and level headed. Physical Capability – Level 2 Due to chaser previously having injured a tendon, he would be best suited to hacking, dressage, and low level jumping. | Race Name: Strongarm Chaser | Details: Trained by Donald McCain Chaser had 7 starts, but racing was not for him. About Chaser

What life with Chaser looks like

Chaser is a senior animal waiting at New Beginnings Horses in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Chaser far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chaser, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chaser?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. New Beginnings Horses handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chaser on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chaser if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — New Beginnings Horses will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chaser already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chaser isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with New Beginnings Horses early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chaser and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
