Copernica

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

Age: Born around March 2020 (approximate date) Breed: Mixed Size: Medium (19.8 kg in early April 2023) Spayed: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Arrival at Remember Me Land: April 2023 – In foster care with Clémentine (54th department) since November 8, 2025 Compatibility: OK with dogs, OK with cats Character: March 13, 2026: Two months with no news and during this period Copette has continued to make great progress. She is now well integrated into our lives, our routines, our rhythms, etc. She is very at ease throughout the house, comfortable on the couch or in bed. She now welcomes us and celebrates in her own way. For example, when I get up in the morning, she comes to me wagging her tail and waits for petting. She now likes petting, there is no doubt about it. She feels much more confident and calm. She has even taken to being confident on walks and doesn't hesitate to bark and spin around in excitement if we don't go fast enough at the beginning of the walk. She is really a pleasant little dog to live with. She is really OK with cats January 11, 2026: Copernica has continued to evolve in just one month: we can now easily attach the leash to her, I had to take it off and put it back on her harness because it had completely turned around while playing, and even though it stressed her a little, I was able to do it without too much difficulty. She now lets herself be petted. It's hard to say if she really likes it, but in any case, she is becoming more relaxed, and we can pet her on more parts of her body. She is ready to find her forever family. We had a few touches, but unfortunately, each time the person seemed to be a match, they didn't have a dog. December 9, 2025: After a little over a month at home, Copernica (Copette for us lol.) has integrated well and adapted to the house's rhythms. Walks are a real pleasure for her, she fully enjoys them (even if she is very afraid if we cross paths with people, whether they are alone or with a dog). Attaching the leash is still a stress for her, just like the slightest "manipulation" (when I have to tighten the harness straps, for example). As for petting, we can "pet" her around the neck, but it's still a moment of stress for her (so I tried your techniques Louk, but it doesn't change much. Let's hope she has a breakthrough at some point. She is a very endearing little dog, always close to us, observing us (or trying to receive a small treat or something else. She is attached to our dogs (she likes to give Tao kisses and play with Vanille). On walks, she does her "proud one" and rolls around, it's funny. She is also a big snorer. As soon as she is in a basket, the machine starts up lol. She is also OK with cats. Short summary for an adoption profile: – Someone who already has a dog – Apartment or house with a garden in the countryside – Someone not bothered by the fact that she doesn't like to be petted (for now) – Someone who loves to go for walks July 2023: Very sweet timid pup, afraid of hands but always around us, very curious, rather calm, she is very interested in what we do, she will evolve quickly in a suitable family (afraid at first) Arrived in April 2023. This animal was abandoned.

About Copernica

What life with Copernica looks like

Copernica is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Copernica, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Copernica?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Copernica on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Copernica if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Copernica already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Copernica isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Copernica and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
