CORA

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

CORA female, neutered, born around early 2022, approximately 40 cm, about 15 kg (a bit too proper), gets along well with dogs, very friendly (see videos further below!). Update 10.12.25: As the foster home where CORA is located will unfortunately be dissolved soon, we are now taking her in as an emergency. She lived here until now with family connections and many other dogs. Unfortunately, Ms. Doina is an older lady who is moving to the city soon, so the foster home will have to be dissolved. CORA (found together with Coca) seems to have been abandoned in Romania. The two seem to have chosen the perfect people to hitch a ride with! When Cristina’s (our on-site animal rescuer) son, who lives near Craiova, was driving down a village street, the two ran after him. He stopped, and one of them immediately jumped into his car—despite not knowing him. They probably sensed that he was a friendly person. The son drove the short distance slowly to his home in the village, and the other female dog ran after them. Now, Coca and CORA are in safety and are well cared for (though a bit too well, but with regular exercise and walks, it’s not a problem). We are looking for a home for them, of course, individually. Both are very friendly and full of energy and joy. CORA definitely still has a lot to learn. She travels with TRACES (Transport with European Veterinary Authority supervision) international pet passport, is microchipped, dewormed, receives flea/ Tick prevention, is vaccinated against Parvovirus, distemper, leptospirosis, rabies, and has her own safety harness. All of this, as well as the transport to Germany, is included in the adoption fee. Due to legal requirements, further pictures and videos can be found here: and on our Facebook page. If interested, please fill out the self-inquiry form!

About CORA

What life with CORA looks like

CORA is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting CORA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CORA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CORA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CORA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CORA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CORA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Craiova - Hilfe für rumänische Tiere e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know CORA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
