Diego was born in 2015 and came to us as an older, very withdrawn, feral dog, showing the marks of difficult experiences. His behaviors are not random, they are deeply rooted patterns built throughout his life without closeness, without tenderness, and without a person who would give him a sense of security. When a person appears in his vicinity, Diego immediately hides in his kennel, the place he treats as his only safe space. His body then says everything: stiffness, turning his head away, low tail position. This is a message that must not be ignored. We work with Diego very carefully, slowly and with full respect for his limits. His behavioral problems are the consequence of many years of life without support, so we support him at his own pace, so that he can, even slightly, change his image of humans.
