Egon

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Egon RESERVED ID No: 1045805 Breed: mixed breed Age: approx. 10/2023 Gender: male shoulder height: approx. 50 cm neutered/Sterilized: Yes Accommodation / Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Egon - soft floppy ears looking for a new home Egon (approx. 10/2023, approx. 50 cm) is a beautiful, striking mixed breed in a compact size! A few days after he was found, Elektra was also found in the same area and without a microchip, and since the two look very similar, we assume they are siblings. Egon has been living at the animal shelter TripleA in Marbella since his arrival in mid-February 2026, in a group with several dogs and shows himself to be very social towards everyone (even if he sometimes barks a little when excited at first). The lovable Egon has already taken part in a "dog of the day" event, during which the dogs go on a day trip outside the shelter, and in this unfamiliar environment for him, he showed no shyness at all. Everything was new for him, and he explored the whole surroundings curiously, but he behaved very well. He was also interested in other dogs and sometimes barked at them, but he always showed a friendly, positive body language. Egon is looking for a home where the people have some dog experience and enjoy long, shared walks. Joint training for cohabitation with a dog would certainly be fun for him, strengthen the bond and give him security. He would probably also be interested in agility or nose work. Egon wishes for people who like to be active with him, experience adventures and want to spend time with him. The athletic guy could be a single dog in a family or fit well into a household with a balanced, confident dog, from whom he can learn and whose behavior he can imitate. Children in his new home should be somewhat older due to his energy. A cat test can be done in Spain if required.

About Egon

What life with Egon looks like

Egon is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Egon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Egon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Egon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Egon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Egon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Egon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Egon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
