Findus

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Waldtierheim Celle, Im Sande 3 (Approach towards Osterloh) We need you - your support helps our dogs, cats, and small animals. Now inform. For our shy and wild cats, we urgently need barns, stables, etc. where they can find a protected place to live. For more information: click here Findus comes from a farm and is a rather reserved tomcat who initially meets new people with caution. He needs time to build trust and adapt to a new environment. With patience and understanding, however, he becomes braver and shows that behind his shy nature lies a lovable tomcat. Findus is very social with other cats and feels comfortable in their company. Therefore, he cannot be rehomed as a single cat. For his happiness, he absolutely needs a feline companion to orient himself by and with whom he can explore the world together. As a former farm cat, Findus wants to enjoy a free roam again after an appropriate period of adjustment. His new home should therefore be in a rural, traffic-free area where he can go on exploration tours and follow his mouse-hunting passion. For Findus, we are looking for a understanding home with patience, a feline friend, and the possibility of a free roam. Then he will develop into a loyal companion step by step. 🐾 For more information, our team at Waldtierheim, a member of the Association of Lower Saxon Animal Protection Societies e.V., will be happy to help. Waldtierheim Celle, Im Sande 3 (Zufahrt Richtung Osterloh) Wir brauchen Dich - deine Unterstützung hilft unseren Hunden, Katzen und Kleintieren. Jetzt informieren. About Findus

What life with Findus looks like

Findus is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Waldtierheim Celle in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Findus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Findus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Waldtierheim Celle handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Findus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Findus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Waldtierheim Celle will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Findus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Findus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Waldtierheim Celle early rather than rehoming privately; they know Findus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
