Findus

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed-breed puppy Findus wants to explore the world. The little Findus was left behind with his 8 siblings in a shopping mall in Bulgaria. Now, he lives safely in our Bulgarian partner shelter and can travel to his own home or a foster home starting in July. Findus is an open, curious puppy who loves to explore his surroundings. He shows friendliness and cuddliness towards people, enjoying attention and closeness. He also gets along well with other dogs. Of course, Findus still needs to learn the dog ABCs: house training, being alone, leash manners, car rides, and meeting many new environmental stimuli. With patience and loving consistency, he will surely develop into a wonderful companion. We wish for people who will give Findus time to settle in and enjoy exploring the world together. For a puppy, this means not only many wonderful moments but also responsibility, patience, and work. Since we do not know his parent dogs, we cannot rule out possible herding dog traits. A rural home with an enclosed yard would therefore be ideal. Who will give Findus a loving home? Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations with them and need time to adjust to their new lives. If you have serious interest in adopting Findus, please contact the responsible mediator from the SALVA Dog Aid. We would also be very happy to arrange a foster home for him.

About Findus

What life with Findus looks like

Findus is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Findus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Findus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Findus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Findus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Findus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Findus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Findus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
