Freud

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Kitten

Hi everyone I am the handsome Freud! I came to YCR with my brother as our previous owners were unable to come. I am now ready to find my furever home and I cannot wait! I am currently very scared so I would like a family which understands my needs and boundaries. When we first meet I will be very shy. I need someone who is willing to give me time and lots of patience for me to come out of my shell. I just need some time but I will make a great companion. You may have also seen my sister Petunia on the website. If you are looking for a pair, we came in together so would be good together! I should be ok to be rehomed with other cats with the correct introdcutions. I would like a home with no dogs or children. I would like a stress free home please. If you think I am the boy for you then please apply now xxx

About Freud

What life with Freud looks like

Freud is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Yorkshire Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freud, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freud?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Yorkshire Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freud on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freud if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Yorkshire Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freud already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freud isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Yorkshire Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freud and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
