Gorda ID number: 1052265 Breed: German Shepherd mix Age: 01.01.2020 Gender: female Shoulder height: 65 cm Neutered/Spayed: Yes Accommodation / Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Gorda - a sensitive soul seeks loving people Gorda (born 01.01.2020, 65 cm) is a beautiful German Shepherd dog with breathtaking long hair and a tail to admire. If life had had other plans for her, she might have become a true beauty queen at dog shows. However, her path led her to the Triple A animal shelter in Marbella. One day, a man simply sat on a bench in front of the shelter with Gorda on a leash and told us he wanted to give her up because he no longer wanted her. In the first months with us, Gorda was very nervous, insecure, stressed, and reacted strongly to other dogs. Therefore, we gave her deliberately a lot of time to get used to things before we started looking for her new home. Now we finally see her true and beautiful character. Gorda is one of those dogs that teach you that love, patience, and time can really change everything. At first, walking her was not easy, but thanks to the dedicated work of her caregivers and the strong bond with our committed volunteers, she has blossomed in the most beautiful way. Today, she is a completely different dog. She walks calmly on the leash, no longer reacts to other dogs when passing by, and pays close attention to the person by her side. Gorda is looking for a person who does not expect a Golden Retriever who instantly loves every stranger unconditionally. Gorda is a dog with a soul and a unique personality. She needs to get to know you, and the human being also needs to take the time to build a real relationship with her, just as we do with human friendships. Once you have invested this valuable time, she will respond perfectly to her name. Even if another dog barks at the fence, she trusts you, listens to you, and comes back to you immediately. It is wonderful to watch how much she enjoys her walks, always attentive, always nearby, with a sweet look that radiates pure gratitude. Gorda nurtures her bond with people in an incredibly touching way. If you move away a bit during free running play, she turns around immediately, looks for you, and runs joyfully towards you. So beautiful she is on the outside, she is even more beautiful on the inside. She is gentle, sensitive, intelligent, and truly something special. For this loyal companion, we are looking for experienced dog people who appreciate all that she has already mastered. Who is ready to give Gorda the loving home she so greatly deserves? Gorda is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and has an EU pet passport. Upon departure, she has been tested for Mediterranean diseases as well as dewormed and treated for fleas. Gorda ID-Nr: 1052265 Rasse: Schäferhund Mischling Alter: 01/2020 Geschlecht: weiblich Schulterhöhe: 65 cm Kastriert/Sterilisiert: Ja Aufenthalt / Ort: Marbella (Spanien) Anfrageformular Gorda – sensible Seele sucht liebevolle Menschen Gorda (geb. Impfungen Ja Mittelmeercheck Ja Microchip Ja Krankheiten Keine bekannt Handicap nein Schutzgebühr 500 € inkl. About Gorda

What life with Gorda looks like

Gorda is a adult german shepherd dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gorda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gorda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gorda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gorda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gorda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gorda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gorda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
