Lenny

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Birthdate: 04/24/2023 Vaccination Certificate: vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas Compatible with dogs: ja Compatible with cats: ja Lenny is an adult, imposing male dog who leaves an impression solely through his appearance. His name means "the Lion Strong" or "the Brave" – and that’s exactly how he stands. Powerful. Self-assured. Presence-strong. Yet, at heart, he has retained a small bit of childhood. Lenny is house-trained, barely barks, and shows himself to be well-balanced in everyday life. After eating or a walk, he comes to rest in the house and can also already spend a certain amount of time alone. He does not drool and is overall a very pleasant roommate. During walks, he runs well on a leash and meets other dogs and people calmly without barking. He reliably responds to his name and already knows the basic commands like sit, stay, stop, and bleed (here, further training is being practiced). Lenny is trainable and enjoys working together with his human. He is compatible with fellow animals and also shows kindness towards cats. Through his upbringing in the Romanian shelter – together with many other dogs – he is well-socialized. Lenny was put up for adoption together with his siblings and spent his first time in the shelter rather unnoticed. It was only during an on-site visit that his calm and friendly nature caught attention, thus giving him a chance at a new life. Despite all his positive qualities, Lenny also brings his own head – a dog with character who needs clear, loving guidance. He seeks humans with dog experience who can provide him with security, work consistently but fairly with him, and take pleasure in furthering his development. Currently, Lenny lives in a foster home, but cannot stay there permanently. Therefore, he urgently needs a stable, loving home where he can finally belong. With the right guidance, Lenny will become a loyal, reliable companion for life – a dog who goes through thick and thin with his person. Almost all our dogs show extreme friendliness towards people, dogs, and cats in Romania. Nevertheless, it should be considered that all dogs need to be educated and integrated into the family routine in their new home. If you would like to give the impressive childlike Lenny a home, please call one of our phone numbers: In a personal conversation, we can answer questions and discuss our criteria for placement. Our dogs are primarily rehomed within an 80 km radius around Tholey -gallery-42814 -gallery-42814 { --fg-gutter: 10px;. This animal was abandoned.

Geburtsdatum: 24.04.2023 EU-Impfausweis: geimpft, gechipt, entwurmt, entfloht Verträglich mit Hunden: ja Verträglich mit Katzen: ja Lenny ist ein erwachsener, imposanter Rüde, der allein durch sein Erscheinungsbild Eindruck macht. Sein Name bedeutet „der Löwenstarke“ oder „der Mutige“ – und genauso steht er auch da. Kraftvoll. Selbstbewusst. Präsenzstark. Und doch ist er im Herzen ein kleines Stück Kind geblieben. Lenny ist stubenrein, bellt kaum und zeigt sich im Alltag angenehm ausgeglichen. Nach dem Fressen oder einer Gassirunde kommt er im Haus gut zur Ruhe und kann auch schon eine gewisse Zeit alleine bleiben. Er sabbert nicht und ist insgesamt ein sehr angenehmer Mitbewohner. Beim Spaziergang läuft er gut an der Leine und begegnet anderen Hunden und Menschen ruhig und ohne Pöbeln. Er hört zuverlässig auf seinen Namen und kennt bereits die Grundkommandos wie Sitz, Platz, Stop und Bleib (hier wird noch weiter geübt). Lenny ist lernfähig und arbeitet gerne mit seinem Menschen zusammen. Mit Artgenossen ist er verträglich und auch Katzen gegenüber zeigt er sich freundlich. Durch sein Aufwachsen im rumänischen Shelter – gemeinsam mit vielen anderen Hunden – ist er gut sozialisiert. Lenny wurde zusammen mit seinen Geschwistern ausgesetzt und verbrachte seine erste Zeit im Shelter, wo er lange eher unauffällig blieb. Erst bei einem Besuch vor Ort fiel er durch seine ruhige und freundliche Art auf und bekam so seine Chance auf ein neues Leben. Trotz all seiner positiven Eigenschaften bringt Lenny auch einen eigenen Kopf mit – ein Hund mit Charakter, der eine klare, liebevolle Führung braucht. Er sucht Menschen mit Hundeerfahrung, die ihm Sicherheit geben, konsequent, aber fair mit ihm arbeiten und Freude daran haben, ihn weiter zu fördern. Aktuell lebt Lenny auf einer Pflegestelle, kann dort jedoch nicht dauerhaft bleiben. Daher sucht er dringend ein stabiles, liebevolles Zuhause, in dem er endlich ankommen darf. Mit der richtigen Führung wird Lenny ein treuer, verlässlicher Begleiter fürs Leben – ein Hund, der mit seinem Menschen durch dick und dünn geht. Fast alle unsere Hunde zeigen sich in Rumänien äußerst freundlich Menschen, Hunden und Katzen gegenüber. Trotzdem sollte man bedenken, dass alle Hunde im neuen Zuhause erzogen und in den Familienalltag eingefügt werden müssen. Wenn Sie dem imposanten Kindskopf Lenny ein Zuhause geben möchten, rufen Sie bitte eine unserer Telefonnummern an: In einem persönlichen Gespräch können wir Fragen beantworten und unsere Vermittlungskriterien besprechen. Unsere Hunde werden vorzugsweise im Umkreis von 80 km um Tholey vermittelt -gallery-42814 -gallery-42814 { --fg-gutter: 10px; }

About Lenny

What life with Lenny looks like

Lenny is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at TierOase ThoMa e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lenny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lenny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TierOase ThoMa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lenny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lenny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TierOase ThoMa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lenny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lenny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TierOase ThoMa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lenny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
