Leo

Unknown · Senior · 11 years

Race Name:Details:Breeding:About: Low Profile Approx 16hh D.O.B: 16th March 2015 Sire: Galileo (IRE) Dame: Dynaforce (USA) Leo is a sweet boy, with three lovely paces. He is sometimes worried that a monster might jump out and eat him, but responds well to a confident handler and rider. We are sure he’ll able to go far in any job when he finds his person. He has worked over poles and a small jump. Leading and Ground Manners – Level 2 Leo is sensible to lead from a head collar but can sometimes need reassurance from a confident handler if he is worried about something new. Grooming and Tacking Up – Level 2 Leo is generally easy to do in the stable, but can sometimes become fidgety if there is a lot going on around him. Horse Care – Level 2 Leo only requires routine vet care and currently has front shoes on. Leo has previously had ulcers, so we choose to protect his tummy with a gut supplement. Riding – Level 2 Leo is a lovely ride with 3 nice paces, he would do well in dressage, showing or as an all rounder for a confident rider that can show him the ropes. Leo can occasionally be spooky under saddle, although this improves with consistent work. General Demeanour – Level 1 Leo loves to spend his time being fussed and would love his own person to build a bond with. Physical Capability – Level 3/4 Leo would be well suited to any job and we feel he would go far in any discipline within the right home. | Race Name: Low Profile | Details: Approx 16hh | Breeding: D.O.B: 16th March 2015 Sire: Galileo (IRE) Dame: Dynaforce (USA) | About: Leo is a sweet boy, with three lovely paces. About Leo

What life with Leo looks like

Leo is a small senior animal waiting at New Beginnings Horses in United Kingdom.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Leo far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Leo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Leo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. New Beginnings Horses handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Leo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Leo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — New Beginnings Horses will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Leo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Leo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with New Beginnings Horses early rather than rehoming privately; they know Leo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
