Litchee

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 10 years

Litchee was born around April 2014 (approximate age) Breed: mixed Race: medium (15-16kg) Neutered: yes (July 7, 2016) Vaccinated: yes Microchipped: yes (number: 642090003538229) Arrival at Remember Me Land: February 2016, in foster care with Regina in the 64th since July 2022 Get-alongs: okay with dogs, okay with cats Temperament: (according to his foster) Litchee hasn't forgotten his life in Romania – 2 years on the streets and 6 years in shelters, and I think he's had some bad experiences with humans. When he feels safe, he's joyful and playful. He likes to follow me and see what I'm doing. He's clean and doesn't destroy anything. He's not a runner. Training to continue: Yes. As much as I can pet him with treats, I can't put a harness on him. So he's never gone for a walk. What kind of family profile is sought (housing, environment, children, daily routine / outings): A calm family is reassuring and ready to give him the time to progress, preferably without children. A garden is essential as he never goes for walks, but he loves to run and play outside. Does he get along with other dogs (males and females)? Yes, he lives with two females and a male, and there's never any tension. He will need a home with another dog. Does he get along with cats? Yes, he currently lives with two cats. Is he clean? Yes Can he walk on a leash? No Can he be left alone for a moment without issue (no barking, no destruction, no crying/anxiety)? Yes, we leave him alone at home when we take the other dogs for walks, but I leave him some treats to keep him occupied while we're gone. Otherwise, he stays with the other dogs during our absences. He barks when we leave, but he calms down afterward. No destruction. Is he afraid of anything in particular (unknown, cars, noise, commotion, etc.)? He tolerates the usual household and outdoor noises without a problem, but he flinches and runs away when something is accidentally dropped. He's comfortable with guests as long as they don't pay him attention (though treats are still welcome!). Young children who run and scream should be avoided. Has he been accustomed to city walks? No Does he have recall? Yes with me, no with people he's not comfortable with. Does he have any health issues (illness/disability)? No History: Unknown. Isolated in February 2022 following a sudden weight loss. This animal is not suitable for homes with young children.

About Litchee

What life with Litchee looks like

Litchee is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Litchee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Litchee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Litchee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Litchee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Litchee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Litchee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Litchee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
