Lusia i Dusia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

Sisters Lusia i Dusia came to us in April 2025 from Piotrków Kujawski. They were born around October 2022. They are sensitive, shy female dogs who are just learning to trust people. At first, they prefer to observe from a safe distance, and the new situation is a challenge for them. They can walk on a leash, but the first step towards a stranger requires courage from them. Sometimes they try to scare away by barking or hiding in the shed, but this is just a way of dealing with stress. However, when they feel more confident - then they reveal their affectionate side ❤️. In the right home, full of patience, calmness and love, they will blossom day by day. The greatest happiness would be if they could live together - then they would give each other a sense of security and support. Both female dogs are spayed.

Siostry Lusia i Dusia trafiły do nas w kwietniu 2025 roku z Piotrkowa Kujawskiego. Największym szczęściem byłoby, gdyby mogły zamieszkać razem – wtedy dawałyby sobie nawzajem poczucie bezpieczeństwa i wsparcie. Obie suczki są wykastrowane.

About Lusia i Dusia

What life with Lusia i Dusia looks like

Lusia i Dusia is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lusia i Dusia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lusia i Dusia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lusia i Dusia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lusia i Dusia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lusia i Dusia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lusia i Dusia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lusia i Dusia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
