Marlee

Female

Marlee is a young dog who was found in very poor condition, confined in a small cage in the mountains of Tenerife. When she was rescued, she had significant fur and skin issues, suggesting long-term neglect and lack of proper care.Since then, Marlee has gone into foster care with Mark, where she has been given safety, kindness, and stability. In foster, she has truly started to blossom and her lovely nature has come through.Marlee is now ready for adoption. She is a sweet, gentle dog with a lovely temperament. She is great with people, great with other dogs, and also great with children, making her an easy and affectionate companion for a family home. Despite her difficult start in life, she is friendly, social, and eager to bond and trust.Marlee is very affectionate and loves cuddles. She deserves a forever home where she will be loved and cared for as part of the family. She has already shown how resilient and loving she is, and now she just needs the right family to give her the life she was always meant to have.

About Marlee

What life with Marlee looks like

Marlee is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Live PAWS Tenerife in Spain.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Marlee, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Marlee?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Live PAWS Tenerife handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Marlee on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Marlee if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Live PAWS Tenerife will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Marlee already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Marlee isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Live PAWS Tenerife early rather than rehoming privately; they know Marlee and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
