Mars

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Mars is a dog of exceptional beauty and an even more exceptional soul. He is about 4 years old, weighs 20-25 kg, and proudly shows his white collar on his shiny black fur. He came to us after an intervention at the animal shelter "Kocham Psisko". In the first contact, Mars is not the type of bold dog. He approaches strangers with shyness - he needs a moment to assess if it's safe. But when he feels he can trust you, his snout brightens, and he becomes an extremely friendly and loyal companion. This is a dog for someone who understands that it's worth waiting a little for the most beautiful friendships. Mars walks very nicely on a leash, so joint walks will be a pure pleasure for you. We are looking for a home for him where he will be the only animal - Mars dreams of having all the caregiver's attention focused solely on him. If you're looking for a faithful friend who, after breaking the ice, would go through fire for you - Mars is waiting for you!

PL·Show original

Mars to pies o wyjątkowej urodzie i jeszcze bardziej wyjątkowej duszy.

About Mars

What life with Mars looks like

Mars is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mars, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mars?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mars on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mars if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mars already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mars isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mars and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
