Misza

Mixed Breed · Female

Looking for a home with a big heart and great patience 🐾 Misza is a female dog whose past has left deep wounds in her heart. When she sees a person, she panics - she runs away, hides, trembles. When we enter her crate, she immediately runs to the corner, trying to disappear. Fear in her eyes says more than words - Misza experienced something that no creature should go through. But we don't give up. Every day we work with her patiently and quietly. Although the road to her trust is long and fragile, there are already first small victories. Misza is slowly starting to go out for short walks - cautiously, hesitantly, but already outside the shelter walls. It's a huge step for her. For Miszy, we are looking for a special home. One that understands the needs of dogs after trauma. A home where immediate love is not expected, but space, time and understanding are given. A caregiver is needed who won't back down after a week, but will be ready to work with her for months - with help, patience and empathy. Misza won't immediately cuddle up to you. But if you love and accept her for who she is, maybe one day she will approach... gently, shyly, and touch your hand on her own. Give her this chance. She really needs it.

Szuka domu z wielkim sercem i ogromną cierpliwością 🐾 Misza to suczka, której przeszłość zostawiła w sercu głębokie rany. Każdego dnia pracujemy z nią cierpliwie i cicho. 🖤

About Misza

What life with Misza looks like

Misza is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Tomaszów Mazowiecki in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Misza, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Misza?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Tomaszów Mazowiecki handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Misza on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Misza if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Tomaszów Mazowiecki will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Misza already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Misza isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Tomaszów Mazowiecki early rather than rehoming privately; they know Misza and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
