Noah

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Noah - a sensitive dog is seeking safety and time to settle in. Noah is currently in a Spanish shelter and arrived there together with four other dogs. He now shares his kennel with the dog Enzo, and the two get along very well. It seems as if they enjoy each other's company - especially in such a stressful environment, this is an important support for many dogs. Noah is initially somewhat reserved towards people. This is understandable in his situation: a shelter with many unfamiliar sounds, unknown dogs, and changing people can quickly become overwhelming for sensitive dogs. However, when Noah feels safe, he already shows that there is a lot of gentleness in him. Then he seeks closeness and enjoys contact and cuddles. There is much to suggest that he will gain more trust with time and in a quiet environment. Currently, the caretakers are learning more about Noah. Often, dogs in the shelter initially only show a small part of their personality - much develops only when they have had some time to calm down and build trust. As soon as there are further information about his behavior, his daily life, or how he deals with other stimuli, we will obviously update his profile. Perhaps the sweetie is also lucky enough to quickly find a foster home, or even better, a permanent bed. We wish Noah a home with patient people who give him the time he needs. Especially more cautious dogs benefit from a calm environment, clear routines, and people who don't have immediate expectations of "functioning". Important to note always: A dog from the animal protection often brings not only potential but also uncertainties. Moving into a home is a big step for Noah, where patience, understanding, and a sense of responsibility are decisive. Whoever is ready to give him this security, gives Noah the chance to develop at his own pace into a trusting companion. Ideally, we are looking for a home for Noah. At the current time, however, a foster home would also be a great help and a huge improvement for Noah's life. Here is Noah's video.

About Noah

What life with Noah looks like

Noah is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Noah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Noah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Noah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Noah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Noah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Noah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Noah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
