Pecsvörk

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 16 years

A critically ill 2009-born female dog, kutya, has been placed in our care. Upon receiving the photos, we immediately agreed to take her in. She was named Pecsvörk. Her previous owner lived in very poor conditions in Pecsvör, not spayed, not vaccinated, but with a scar on her back, and her fur was thin and patchy. According to the description, she had not been outside her home for about 10 years. She spent her days in the kitchen... Her owner gave her up to ensure that the dog would receive better care. Upon Pecsvörk's arrival, she was very sad but very trusting. Most of her life, she had never encountered so few people and likely few other dogs, so she was very reserved in her communication. However, she proved to be an incredible learner and within a few days, she opened her heart and gradually earned our trust. Now, her fur has grown back beautifully, and she has become a real little life sanctuary, a sweet, young-looking old lady. She will find a common language with other dogs, but she loves to be a lap dog. With open adoption intentions, it would be wise to come and get to know her. Pecsvörk is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, but only a full-time, loving home is acceptable. She can bring many joys and happiness to her beloved owner. We very much hope that we can still provide her with a few more healthy and happy years, despite her old age. Therefore, we are looking for a responsible guardian who can provide her with a permanent home until the end of her life and give her the love and home she may not have received as a dog or a family member. Further photos can be found HERE!

Egy öreg bőrbeteg 2009. születésű szuka kutya elhelyezésében kérték segítségünket. A kapott képek alapján azonnal igen mondtunk. Nálunk a Pecsvörk nevet kapta. A dolgát a konyhában végezte... About Pecsvörk

What life with Pecsvörk looks like

Pecsvörk is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Senior dog requiring ongoing medical care and patience due to past neglect. Had skin issues and mammary tumor, spent 10 years confined indoors.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pecsvörk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pecsvörk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pecsvörk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pecsvörk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pecsvörk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pecsvörk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pecsvörk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
