Penny

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 8 years

Cuddly Penny is an 8-year-old small sized lurcher looking for her forever home through Last Chance Animal Rescue, Edenbridge, Kent . Penny is such a loving girl and adores everyone she meets and you can't help but love her back ! She may be small in size but Penny has a big personality with lots of funny little habits which will make you smile. She does little Bambi trots around the house and then jumps up on the sofa next to you for a cuddle. She would like to be the only dog in the house as she has never been socialised with other dogs and does not know how to greet them. On walks she will become vocal towards dogs she meets and will pull towards them and although she is older and small, she is pretty strong. Living in the noisy centre with lots of other dogs is sadly not helping Penny at the moment. She would definitely benefit from some training with a calm submissive dog. Penny would thrive in a calm, peaceful home where she can enjoy quiet walks away from crowded dog areas before returning home for a cosy snooze on the sofa. She’s a real sweetheart with a gentle nature, and she’ll make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, laid-back friend. ———————————————————- If you can offer Penny a lovely forever home, please contact Last Chance Animal Rescue as follows: Or pop in to meet them – Wed to Sun, 11am-3pm (closed Mon/Tues) Please mention that you saw Penny on Oldies Club website.

About Penny

What life with Penny looks like

Penny is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Penny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Penny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Penny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Penny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Penny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Penny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Penny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
