Raina

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Raina is a mixed-breed female dog, likely born in November 2025, who was found abandoned along with her siblings and brought to the shelter of our Hungarian partner organization. She is a lively, cheerful girl, but also very affectionate and needy. She enjoys cuddling with her caregivers and can never get enough of it. She wants to play and romp around joyfully, showing interest in everything in her surroundings. She learns quickly and easily and can be motivated well. Due to her charming nature, she would be perfectly suited as a family dog, especially for families with older, understanding children. Raina gets along wonderfully with all her fellow dogs and would be a good choice as a second dog to a playful companion. She wishes for loving and active people who have plenty of free time to spend with her, patiently training her and either living in the suburbs or in the countryside. Some experience in dog care should already be present. The adult female dog will reach a shoulder height of approximately 35-40 cm and weigh around 13-16 kg. Since the parents of our puppies and young dogs are often not known (at best, only the mother), the size and weight specifications are estimates based on experience and can deviate both below and above the given figures.

About Raina

What life with Raina looks like

Raina is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Care Hungary.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Raina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Raina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Care Hungary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Raina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Raina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Care Hungary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Raina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Raina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Care Hungary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Raina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
