Tabitha

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 1 year

Tabitha came into our care as a very young mum alongside her litter of kittens. Now that her kittens are all grown up and have flown the nest, Tabitha is ready to find a loving forever home of her own! Tabitha is a beautiful young cat with a sweet and gentle nature. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she has had time to settle in, her affectionate personality really shines through. She enjoys gentle attention, head scratches and loves spending time with her people. When she's not cuddling up for affection, Tabitha is happiest curled up in a cosy spot, watching the world go by. Tabitha would thrive in a settled home with a family who have experience with cats and understand the importance of allowing her time to settle at her own pace. She would be best suited to a home with sensible children aged 8 years old and over who understand she may need space while she settles. As it is unknown how Tabitha would react to other pets in the home, careful introductions would be needed. She may be able to live with a cat-savvy dog or another cat with a similar personality.

About Tabitha

What life with Tabitha looks like

Tabitha is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at USPCA.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Tabitha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tabitha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. USPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tabitha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tabitha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — USPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tabitha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tabitha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with USPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tabitha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
