Tess

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Mixed breed Tess - Little Heartthief Seeks Her Ticket to Happiness Sweet Tess was able to leave the bleak shelter life in Spain together with her sister and travel to a loving foster home in Germany. Now her sister has already found her forever home - and Tess also hopes to soon be able to welcome her own family into her heart. Tess brings many wonderful qualities. She is an open, curious and very people-oriented young dog who simply likes to be around. Everyday noises, environmental stimuli or new situations have not caused her any fear so far - she appears easygoing, friendly and simply ready to explore the world. Especially nice: Tess orientates herself a lot towards people and has little "independence". She wants to please, experience things together and loves contact with her caretakers. At the same time, she is still young and is currently in the middle of puppy school - being alone is being slowly practiced and should continue to be lovingly developed in her new home. The little mouse is playful, very interested in toys and has a cheerful, lively nature. She has not chased cats so far, knows children and is also familiar with horses. She could stay alone with her sister without problems. Moreover, she has so far done no mischief at all - a little show dog, indeed. What does Tess wish for? People with hearts who want to go through life together with her, experience adventures and show her how beautiful a real home can be. She will certainly be happy about active people, walks together and small activities for mind and nose. Who will fall in love with this cheerful young dog and finally give Tess her own basket? Then feel free to contact her assigned mediator. Here is Tess's video.

Was Tess sich wünscht?

About Tess

What life with Tess looks like

Tess is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tess, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tess?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tess on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tess if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tess already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tess isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tess and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
