Ulises

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

♂, born ca. 5/2025liebenswert - active - social Ulises is a ca. 5/2025 born Podenco Andaluz male dog with a shoulder height of ca. 50 cm. Ulises was discovered as a puppy, alone and abandoned, aimlessly wandering, and brought to the local animal shelter. He was likely abandoned and left to fend for himself, as no one was looking for him or missed him. Since then, Ulises has eagerly waited for a loving and adequate home and a cozy warm dog bed, to live in security and well-being, happily. The cute and lovable male dog seeks engaged people who have plenty of time for him, challenge and nurture him, teach him the dog ABCs with patience and calm, ideally with regular visits to dog training classes, and integrate him into their daily lives, where Ulises finally experiences the affection, love, and care he has not had before. Ulises is well compatible with fellow animals of both sexes. He would gladly and well be rehomed with other sociable independent fellow animals, preferably of similar age and size. This would even be beneficial for Ulises. For Ulises, a loving home with active people is sought who have plenty of time for him, as well as a desire and joy in shared activities with him and explore the world together, because he has likely not learned much so far and is also no couch potato. A quiet rural home and environment would be desirable and ideal for him. Cats and/or small pets should not be present in his future home. Ulises will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for Mediterranean diseases. He is located in an animal shelter in Andalusia/Spain. The adoption fee for Ulises is 460 Euro. About Ulises

What life with Ulises looks like

Ulises is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ulises, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ulises?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ulises on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ulises if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ulises already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ulises isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ulises and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
