Rexi is a friendly personality. He is still in shelter kennel shy and carefully observes people and stressful situations from a bit of a distance first. Once he gets to move at his own pace, curiosity quickly overcomes him and Rexi starts sniffing even strangers. He dares to eat treats from hands and from the actions of familiar people, he sometimes gets gently patted on the head. Rexi has been living in shelter kennel together with Melaminin for a long time and since both are timid, progress has been slow. A more outgoing dog companion would definitely be helpful for Rex in the future home or foster home.

Rexi on sympaattinen persoona. Hän on edelleen tarhalla ujo ja tarkkailee mielellään ihmisiä ja jännittäviä tilanteita ensin hieman kauempaa. Saadessaan edetä omaan tahtiinsa uteliaisuus voittaa kuitenkin nopeasti ja Rexi käy nuuhkimassa myös vieraita ihmisiä. Hän uskaltaa syödä herkut kädestä ja tuttujen ihmisten toimesta häntä saa toisinaan varovasti hieman rapsutella. Rexi on jo pitkään asunut tarhalla yhdessä Melaminin kanssa ja koska molemmat ovat arkoja, on edistyminen ollut hidasta. Reippaasta koirakaverista olisikin varmasti Rexille apua tulevassa kodissa tai kotihoitopaikassa.
