Harley and Hershey, two incredibly handsome and large/ extra-large dogs, are on a heartwarming quest to find a loving home together. These sweet brothers yearn for attention and affection, their gentle, soulful eyes capable of melting even the toughest of hearts. Though both boys are a bit nervous until they get to know you, their gentle nature shines through as they sit quietly for hours, simply soaking in your love and affection. Harley and Hershey both take treats from your hand with the utmost gentleness. Brave Harley leads the way, while his more nervous brother, Hershey, follows closely behind, trusting his brother’s courage. Their bond is heartwarming, and they dream of a rural or semi-rural home with direct access to a large, secure garden to play in, with possibly another friendly dog to keep them company. These precious boys need a very special family, one willing to invest the time, patience, and kindness needed to help them adjust to life outside the kennel environment. In return, they will shower you with endless love and loyalty. Harley and Hershey’s hearts are overflowing with affection, and they are ready to share it with the right family who will cherish them forever. What they need is an understanding family, a soft voice, a kind gentle hand. They will need a quiet, experienced, calm, rural home environment, preferably adult only, with someone who understands that they will have to earn their trust before their true personalities start to show. They are both so eager to belong but not sure how to, so we are looking for a home with an out house or conservatory to give them the time they need to slowly learn how to integrate in their own time. Will you be the one to open your heart and home to these gentle giants? This is Harley and Hershey’s story. Alongside their seven siblings, these boys were found abandoned, hungry, and alone at a chicken abattoir. Initially, they were fostered in a friend’s yard, where a spacious kennel run was constructed to house them until there was room at our shelter, Happy’s. Now that they have moved to Happy’s, Harley and Hershey have become firm favourites with everyone who meets them. As you can imagine, each one of our dogs is very precious to us, they haven’t had the best start in life and therefore it is absolutely crucial we find the right homes for them. When you complete a registration form, please tell us as much as you can about why you are looking to adopt a dog and how you think you can meet their needs. Every dog is an individual and our amazing rehoming team will know exactly what type of home each dog needs to thrive. For example, will the dog cope with a small garden or is it the type of dog who needs to live in a rural environment? Will the dog enjoy being around children, or is it best suited to an adult only home? Will it cope sharing a home with other pets, or is it best as an only dog? Are you outdoorsy types who like to go hiking, or would you prefer a dog who is happy to snuggle up on the sofa with you? Our rehoming team will be very familiar with the needs of each of our dogs and the information you provide on your application form will help them to match you with the right dog.
