Adottare Dylan
Incrocio · Maschio · Cucciolo · 6 mesi
Dylan was abandoned at the shelter by his owners when he was 6-7 months old, and he was called just “Mali". He arrived extremely stressed and completely overwhelmed... Deep down he is a very sweet boy, but it is clear he lacked any proper socialization, basic training or contact with other dogs in his previous home. At first, he was struggling with this missing boundaries and socialization, but our professional volunteer has already taken him under her wing and he already makes great progress in helping Dylan find focus and concentration. He is now part of a pack, which is helping him a lot. When he is around other dogs, Dylan at first seemed completely confused. He didn't know how to communicate and initially didn't understand any corrections from the educator dogs. He barked a lot to release his inner frustration. Dylan is a truly sensitive soul who desperately needs time, patience and a lot of understanding. He cannot handle alot of pressure at the moment, if he is pushed too hard or handled with pressure, he has shown a tendency to make snapping movements towardsthe human, which is normal with this type of dogs, although he is learning that is not what we are supposed to do. Sometimes he also tries to bite the leash, but he is already responding quite well to guidance. When you work with him and give him his time, his wonderful true nature shines through. If you are patient and approach him with a calm energy, he relaxes a bit, allows you to pet him and even happily exposes his belly for cuddles. Dylan needs a dedicated home that will guide him step by step and give him all the time he needs to learn about the world in a safe and understanding way. We are looking for a Malinois or active dog experienced home with very minimal stimuli - no children and not in a busy city environment, a confident but compassionate human willing to keep training and socialising him (maybe with assistance of a professional). He needs strong leadership and attention so that he could grow into a confident dog. Ideally the home would already have 1 or more balanced, confident dogs at home, who will offer guidance to Dylan. In case he would be an only dog, very regular dog contact during social walks or group training classes would be required. His shoulder height is approximately 50cm right now.
