In the fall, a russet-colored puppy ended up at the shelter after people set a trap: on the street, near a wall, the puppy sat for several hours… The local authorities got involved, and the trapper brought the puppy to the shelter. The next day, the foster parent called to say they would drive by, but days and weeks passed, and there was no word or sign from her. We found out that the puppy was adopted from a shelter in Valmiera, then her first owner passed away, and the puppy might have been taken in by a breeder who really wanted him. That's why we can't insist on driving by. If it's not necessary, we'll find a perfect home for this sweet puppy! About Zhorku, he can be described as a delivery van on legs or a puppy slightly taller than average (17.5 kg). He is very well-behaved, friendly, kind, and safe. Žoriks can be adopted as the first puppy ever, in a family with children, or by people with experience who simply need a true friend and companion. In this positive description, there is only one minor concern (which is a plus in the shelter's eyes) – we think the puppy is a cur. When the days passed, starting from the morning, as other puppies barked loudly, Žoriks continued to firmly whine. He also does not react to his name (which was mentioned in the register). What does this mean for the current owners? Living in the city – nothing, as the puppy always walks around on a lead. If there is a thought to offer Zhorku a life in a private home, then the yard must be fenced in. And that's it! How to reach out and "call" an unresponsive puppy? With calls and gestures – there are many tutorials online about communicating with cur puppies. They learn to be friendly!

Mūsmājās rudbrūnais suņvīrs nonāca pēc tam, kad cilvēki cēla trauksmi: ielas malā, piesiets pie staba, jau vairākas stundas sēž suns… Iesaistījās pašvaldības policija, un rējēju nogādāja patversmē. Nākamajā rītā īpašniece gan piezvanīja, ka braukšot pakaļ, taču dienas un nedēļas rit, bet no viņas nav ne ziņas, ne miņas. Kā noskaidrojām, savulaik suns adoptēts no Valmieras patversmes, tad viņa pirmā saimniece nomirusi, un suni, iespējams, pārņēmusi radiniece, kurai viņš īsti gribēts nebija. Tāpēc arī neuzstājam, ka obligāti jābrauc pakaļ. Ja reiz nevajag, tad meklēsim feinajam suņkungam īstas mājas! Auguma aprisēs Žoriku var raksturot kā raženu taksi uz garākām kājelēm jeb suni zem vidējā auguma (17,5 kg). Viņš ir ļoti kārtīgs, pieklājīgs, labdabīgs un drošs. Žoriks ir adoptējams gan kā pirmais suns mūžā, gan ģimenē ar bērniem, gan cilvēkiem ar pieredzi, kuriem vienkārši pietrūkst īsta drauga un kompanjona. Visā šajā pozitīvajā aprakstā ir tikai viens niecīgs mīnusiņš (kas patversmes dzīvē gan ir trekns pluss) – mūsuprāt, suns ir kurls. Kad no rītiem, dienu sākot, kopējiem ieejot gaiteņos, visi citi suņi skaļi rej, Žoriks turpina saldi čučēt. Viņš arī nereaģē uz savu vārdu (tāds bija minēts reģistrā). Ko tas nozīmē topošajiem saimniekiem? Dzīvojot pilsētā – pilnīgi neko, jo suns pastaigās vienmēr iet pavadā. Ja ir doma piedāvāt Žorikam dzīvi privātmājā, tad gan sētai apkārt jābūt obligāti.
