The San Lazaro Foundation asked for help with a dog in placement, a dog that was kept on a chain, its owners moved away, and the dog was left behind. Berta is a 7-year-old spayed female dog. Her start was difficult, she came to our care under terrible conditions. Her previous owners moved away, leaving her chained up in the garden, in the middle of a pile of trash. Despite this, Berta is full of energy and boundless love. She is extremely people-oriented, shy, and affectionate. She has difficulty with being confined, she paces a lot in the kennel, so she needs an owner who can provide her with proper exercise, shared activities, and mental stimulation. Since most of her life was spent on a chain, she still needs to learn how to walk politely. She is very enthusiastic, pulls on the leash, and is interested in anything that moves. Right now, she reacts intensely to other dogs, but she can be well-socialized and trained in the hands of experts. We do not recommend her with cats, she feels best as the only dog. Berta can be an ideal choice even for first-time owners, provided they are committed to regular dog training. We also recommend her for families with older children, with outdoor and indoor keeping, so that she can finally become a fully valued and loved member of the family.

BEKERÜLÉSÉNEK KÖRÜLMÉNYEI: San Lazaro Alapítvány kért segítséget a kutya elhelyezésében, láncon tartott kutya volt, gazdái elköltöztek, kutya ott maradt Berta egy 7 éves ivartalanított kutyahölgy. Sorsa nehezen indult, borzasztó körülmények közül érkezett a gondozásunkba. Korábbi gazdái elköltöztek, őt pedig láncra verve, egy szemétkupac közepén hagyták sorsára a kertben. Ennek ellenére Berta tele van energiával és mérhetetlen szeretettel. Rendkívül emberközpontú, bújós és szeretetéhes típus. A bezártságot nehezen viseli, a kennelben sokat pörög, ezért olyan gazdára van szüksége, aki biztosítja számára a megfelelő mozgást, a közös foglalkozást és a mentális ingereket. Mivel élete nagy részét láncon töltötte, a kultúrált sétát még tanulnia kell. Kimondottan lelkes, húz a pórázon, és minden érdekli, ami mozog. Más kutyákra jelenleg intenzíven reagál, de szakértő kezekben jól szocializálható és tanítható. Macskák mellé nem ajánljuk, leginkább egyedüli kutyaként érzi jól magát. Berta ideális választás lehet akár kezdő gazdiknak is, amennyiben vállalják a rendszeres kutyaiskolát. Nagyobb gyerekek mellé is jó szívvel ajánljuk, kinti-benti tartás mellett, hogy végre egy család teljes értékű, szeretett tagja lehessen.
