Hello, I am Dumbo - a gentle tomcat! I am a rather shy fellow who needs time to settle in. New situations make me a bit unsure at first, but I am very compatible with other cats and feel right at home in the company of fellow animals. If you give me patience and do not rush me, I will gradually open up and show my calm, loving nature. What is important: I am FIP-positive and therefore can only be rehomed with cats who also carry this virus. For me, this means that I need a home where compatible cats already live or where the right socialization is taken into account. What is FIP? FIP is an illness that arises from a mutated coronavirus in cats. Many cats carry the coronavirus without ever becoming ill. Only a small part of the cats have a virus that can mutate to cause FIP. Thanks to modern treatment options, affected cats often have good chances and can lead a beautiful, normal life. The important thing is that they live together with other FIP-positive cats. I wish for a quiet home full of understanding, where you give me the time I need to build trust. With patience and loving presence, I will surely develop into a loyal, gentle companion. Hallo, ich bin Dumbo - ein sanfter Kater! Ich bin ein eher schüchterner Bursche, der Zeit zum Ankommen braucht. Neue Situationen machen mich zuerst etwas unsicher, aber ich bin sehr verträglich mit anderen Katzen und fühle mich in Gesellschaft von Artgenossen richtig wohl. Wenn man mir Geduld schenkt und mich nicht drängt, öffne ich mich nach und nach und zeige mein ruhiges, liebevolles Wesen. Was wichtig ist: Ich bin ein FIP-positiv und darf deshalb nur zu Katzen vermittelt werden, die diesen Virus ebenfalls in sich tragen. Für mich bedeutet das vor allem, dass ich ein Zuhause brauche, in dem schon passende Katzen leben oder in dem man auf die richtige Vergesellschaftung achtet. Was ist FIP? FIP ist eine Erkrankung, die durch ein mutiertes Coronavirus bei Katzen entsteht. Viele Katzen tragen das Coronavirus in sich, ohne jemals krank zu werden. Nur bei einem kleinen Teil der Katzen verändert sich der Virus so, dass er zu FIP führen kann. Dank moderner Behandlungsmöglichkeiten haben betroffene Katzen häufig gute Chancen und können ein schönes, normales Leben führen. Wichtig ist lediglich, dass sie mit anderen FIP - positiven Katzen zusammenleben. Ich wünsche mir ein ruhiges Zuhause voller Verständnis, in dem man mir die Zeit gibt, die ich brauche, um Vertrauen zu fassen. Mit Geduld und liebevoller Nähe werde ich mich bestimmt zu einem treuen, sanften Begleiter entwickeln. Vielleicht darf ich ja bei dir meine Chance bekommen?
