For four years she has been staying with us in the refugio; Too long for such a sweet, brave soul. Bella's past was hard and unfair. She was exploited for breeding, ended up in the wrong hands and was eventually discarded in a death station. When we found her there, she had just gotten another litter; but her puppies had long disappeared. She was sick, in a lot of pain, and her body and soul were exhausted. But Bella didn't give up. In our care she began to recover; Slowly but surely. She has become a loyal, affectionate lady who dares to trust again. She loves people, she loves food and she enjoys attention. Bella has strength, both physically and in her character, and seeks an experienced owner who can offer her clarity and stability. She can be a bit selective with other dogs, especially with bitches, but with quiet males she usually does well. However, she would prefer to have a place for herself, where she can relax as the only dog in the house. Bella's not a dog for anyone. She needs someone who understands her, who knows what a Stafford needs, and guides her with love, structure and respect. But whoever gives her that chance will get an extraordinary friend in return: faithful, loving, and grateful to the depths of her soul. Bella's been waiting four years. Al vier jaar verblijft ze bij ons in de refugio; véél te lang voor zo’n lieve, dappere ziel. Bella’s verleden was hard en oneerlijk. Ze werd uitgebuit voor fok, belandde in de verkeerde handen en werd uiteindelijk afgedankt in een dodenstation. Toen we haar daar vonden, had ze net weer een nestje gekregen; maar haar pups waren al lang verdwenen. Ze was ziek, had veel pijn, en haar lichaam én ziel waren uitgeput. Maar Bella gaf niet op. In onze zorg begon ze te herstellen; langzaam maar zeker. Ze heeft zich ontpopt tot een trouwe, aanhankelijke dame die weer durft vertrouwen. Ze is gek op mensen, dol op eten en geniet met volle teugen van aandacht. Bella heeft kracht, zowel fysiek als in haar karakter, en zoekt een ervaren baasje dat haar duidelijkheid en stabiliteit kan bieden. Ze kan wat selectief zijn met andere honden, vooral met teefjes, maar met rustige reuen gaat het meestal goed. Toch zou ze het allerliefst een plekje voor zichzelf hebben, waar ze helemaal tot rust mag komen als enige hond in huis. Bella is geen hond voor zomaar iedereen. Ze heeft iemand nodig die haar begrijpt, die weet wat een Stafford nodig heeft, en haar met liefde, structuur én respect begeleidt. Maar wie haar die kans geeft, krijgt er een buitengewone vriendin voor terug : trouw, liefdevol, en dankbaar tot in het diepst van haar ziel.
