He belongs to a family of dogs that have arrived quite neglected, with many fears and without the appearance of ever having known the outside world. Their owner was a very old man and has not been able to take care of them as he should. They have arrived with bad teeth, some with leishmania, and their hair was a mess of dirt turned into dreadlocks. We have to cut their hair better and bath them when we see them less scared; we have removed the dreadlocks that bothered them to walk but we don't want to invade too much their space, little by little... Mel was scared when we put him on the leash; with time and a lot of love we have managed to get him to go for a walk. On the other hand, he loves caresses, he gives us kisses when he sees us, he takes the treats gently and enjoys our company, he is the first one to come out to greet us when we enter his kennel. He is still not very used to be on leash but everything will come... He is affectionate, sweet and sociable with dogs; he is waiting to find a family with experience with fearful dogs that will teach him the rest of the world. He deserves a better life than the one he has had.
