Meet Velvet – a quiet little soul with a world of love inside Velvet came into our care after we were informed that her beloved human dad had suddenly passed away, leaving behind her, several other cats, and an elderly dog. Our team stepped in to ensure that all the animals would be safe and given the chance to find loving homes again. Losing her person deeply affected Velvet. For some time, she seemed withdrawn and heartbroken, as if grieving the loss of the human she loved so much. Even now, there is a quiet sensitivity about her — a softness that reflects everything she has been through. Velvet is a tiny, delicate cat with a calm and shy nature. She may not be the first to seek attention, but she has a truly unique and special personality that slowly reveals itself to those who take the time to understand her. She enjoys spending time quietly on her own, often resting in her cozy little nest, observing the world around her in her own gentle way. But when she feels safe, especially when she’s in her carrier or her favorite spot, she absolutely melts under human touch. Velvet is incredibly affectionate once you start petting her, always asking for more and more cuddles in her own soft, quiet way. There is something wonderfully “different” about her, a charming, slightly quirky personality that makes her feel like a character straight out of a Tim Burton movie. She is tender, sweet, and full of hidden warmth. Velvet gets along well with other cats, as she has lived with them all her life, and she is also familiar with dogs, having shared her home with one. She is now being fostered in Athens, Greece, and is looking for a patient and loving home that will appreciate her unique nature and give her the time and space she needs to truly blossom.
