24-07-26 Calypso is a shy lady who has come into our care from a breeder. She is a sweet and gentle girl who is still very unsure of people. Calypso isn't a fan of being picked up and may run away when we approach her, as she is not yet sure of our intentions. However, once she is safely in our arms, she settles enough to allow gentle handling. Calypso gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. As Calypso has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead training, and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and allow her the time she needs to adjust to her new surroundings. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens who are aged 13+ that are sensible and will allow her time to settle in at her own pace. She can be a bit flighty, and nervous of fast movements so she will need an extra secure home and garden to keep her safe. Calypso is a lovely, gentle girl who is just beginning to learn that people can be kind. With the support of a friendly dog and a patient family who are happy to go at her pace, we hope she will gradually grow in confidence and begin to enjoy all the comforts of home life. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
