Temperament: Finn is extremely people-oriented and feels safe with 'his human'. He enjoys contact and would prefer to be with his human(s) all day, although he can also be alone at home for a few hours. After 4 years in a Romanian animal shelter, we admire how well Finn is doing as a 'beginning house dog' in the Netherlands! This does not change that this lovely pup is still uncertain in new or busy situations. Can you offer what Finn needs and can you read him well? Then you have the most loyal, loving, and above all, the most grateful dog you could wish for.❤️ Behavior at home: Finn is a quiet dog who likes to be near you. He doesn't destroy things and only barks when something is wrong (someone at the door). Finn likes to be cuddled, then he lies down happily, but is rather modest than pushy. He likes to be near his owner(s) and enjoys his soft kisses. After so many years on the hard ground, it took weeks before he started lying in a soft bed. Now he does nothing else. The family's own dog (a large, unsure male dog) does not accept Finn, so they now live separately. That is not an ideal situation. He gets along well with the calm, somewhat older female dog. He would like to play a bit but accepts it when she indicates that it has been enough. Because Finn is still uncertain himself, we place him only with a stable, social dog. The cats in the foster family seem strange to Finn. The first days he was afraid of them, during the following weeks he tried to chase them. But now it's getting better. Sometimes he still runs after the cat in the yard. If the cat is lying quietly somewhere, Finn leaves it alone.
