Support and Health How much training will I need? Needs ongoing support Can I be left alone? Yes Kaleb came into us as a stray so we don’t know if he’s been left home alone before. He does get quite attached to people once he’s built a relationship with them and may struggle being left. Any home alone training will need to be worked on gradually so he’s looking for owners that will be around the majority of the time, but has the potential to be left for a few hours if it’s built up in a positive way. Do I have any medical conditions? None Kaleb has a clean bill of health and can be fully insured after rehoming. Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? No Can I live with cats? No Can I live with small pets? Yes, conditionally - Potentially suitable to live with securely housed small pets Additional information Kaleb is very unsure around other dogs, at times he is worried by them, other times he is excited to meet them, but whichever way he feels, he shows his emotions by barking. He has met a few dogs but he’s very over the top and doesn’t know how to interact with them, which not all dogs will tolerate. Kaleb is currently undergoing training so he feels in a better headspace around other dogs and it will be very important that he continues this training in his new home, which we will show you when you come to meet him. He will need to be walked in quiet areas where he won’t come across many dogs so that he can take his training on board instead of being overwhelmed. He is looking for owners that are happy to continue this training with him, at his pace. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Kaleb can live with teenagers aged 13+ who can understand when he’s worried. He is a very apprehensive boy and will often bark at new people to show them how he’s feeling, it does take him some time to warm up to new people so using treats and taking pressure off him to make friends is the best approach. He is looking for understanding owners that accept him as he is and that even with training, he may never be comfortable being approached on walks. What type of environment would suit me? Kaleb will need a secure, private garden in his new home so that he’s got a space to run around off lead, and for the days where he may be too uneasy going for a walk in the big wide world. About Kaleb Kaleb is a sensitive, intelligent boy looking for a patient and understanding home. He can be nervous and reactive, particularly in busy or unfamiliar environments, so he’ll need ongoing training and support to help him continue building his confidence. Once you’ve earned his trust, he is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and forms strong bonds with his people. He loves spending time with those he knows, enjoys learning new things, and thrives on positive, reward-based training. His enthusiasm for training makes him a rewarding companion for someone who enjoys working with their dog. Because he can find busy situations overwhelming, Kaleb would be happiest in a calm, predictable home with owners who are committed to continuing his training and understanding his needs. With patience, consistency, and plenty of encouragement, he’ll make a loyal, loving companion who will repay your efforts with endless affection.
