Kaya is a mixed-breed female dog born around June 2020 with a shoulder height of around 42 cm and a weight of 17 kg. Kaya's story begins sadly, yet it shows how much strength and trust can lie in a small dog's heart. When Kaya was about three months old, she was found together with Flocke in a Bulgarian village. The two are not siblings, but fate brought them together. They were likely simply put outside – unwanted, bothersome, inconvenient. In the village, they were not welcome. The residents threw stones at them and drove them through the streets. Two little puppies, screaming in panic, fleeing from people who scared them. It is hard to imagine what these young souls endured in those moments. Fortunately, our animal welfare workers were called and were able to secure Kaya and Flocke – frightened, disoriented, but finally safe. Shortly after, it turned out that both were suffering from Parvovirus, a often deadly viral infection. But they fought – and won. The illness is long gone, and Kaya is now fully healthy. What has happened since then borders on a small miracle: Kaya has processed her traumatic experiences. She has learned that people can also be good. Today, she loves the closeness to her trusted people, enjoys every pat, and reacts joyfully to her name. She can be cuddled, seeks eye contact, and shows on her quiet, gentle nature how much she wants to belong. Kaya loves people – and she loves pleasing them. On her foster home, Kaya lives among a larger group of dogs. She is wonderfully integrated, understands herself equally well with female dogs as with male dogs, and shows no aggression or insecurity towards fellow animals. Kaya is peaceful, social, and balanced – a female dog that seeks and finds harmony. Since the local animal rescuer is visited by a vet, Kaya has not seen the inside of a car in years and her leash training has faded. This will need to be built up gently in the new home. But Kaya is attentive, eager to learn, and oriented towards her people – with patience and loving guidance, she will also master this. From her nature, Kaya is a calmer, friendlier, and lovable female dog. She does not need constant action around the clock but values relaxed walks, a safe environment, and the certainty that she will stay. A home in the countryside or on the outskirts would be ideal – with plenty of nature, little noise, and the possibility to discover the world at her own pace. Kaya also likes to play with a ball. We could imagine Kaya well as a second dog by the side of a confident first dog. A family with children from about 10 years old, who know respectful dog handling, would also be a possibility. And then there is Flocke – Kaya's companion since the first day. The two have a special bond that has grown over the years. They understand each other blind, give each other security. Flocke is very similar to Kaya in nature, only more cautious with strangers at first, until trust is there. We would be very happy if the two could start a new life together. Kaya has endured so much – and yet she has never stopped believing in the good. Now she is ready to finally arrive. With people who show her that she is wanted. That she is loved. That she will stay. Kaya will be vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and tested negative for Mediterranean diseases before being rehomed. She is in a foster home in Bulgaria. The adoption fee for Kaya is 460 Euros. Kaya ist eine ca. 6/2020 geborene Mischlingshündin mit einer Schulterhöhe von ca. 42 cm. und einem Gewicht von 17 kg. Kayas Geschichte beginnt traurig, doch sie zeigt, wie viel Stärke und Vertrauen in einem kleinen Hundeherz stecken können. Als Kaya etwa drei Monate alt war, wurde sie gemeinsam mit Flocke in einem bulgarischen Dorf gefunden. Die beiden sind keine Geschwister, doch das Schicksal hat sie zusammengeführt. Vermutlich wurden sie einfach vor die Tür gesetzt – ungewollt, lästig, unbequem. Im Dorf waren sie nicht willkommen. Die Bewohner warfen Steine nach ihnen und trieben sie durch die Straßen. Zwei kleine Welpen, panisch schreiend, auf der Flucht vor Menschen, die ihnen Angst machten. Es ist kaum vorstellbar, was diese beiden jungen Seelen in diesen Momenten durchgemacht haben. Zum Glück wurden unsere Tierschützer gerufen und konnten Kaya und Flocke sichern – verängstigt, verstört, aber endlich in Sicherheit. Kurz darauf stellte sich heraus, dass beide an Parvovirose erkrankt waren, einer oft tödlichen Virusinfektion. Doch sie kämpften – und gewannen. Die Krankheit ist längst überstanden, und Kaya ist heute vollständig gesund. Was seitdem passiert ist, grenzt an ein kleines Wunder: Kaya hat ihre schlimmen Erlebnisse verarbeitet. Sie hat gelernt, dass Menschen auch gut sein können. Heute liebt sie die Nähe zu ihren Bezugspersonen, genießt jede Streicheleinheit und reagiert freudig auf ihren Namen. Sie lässt sich knuddeln, sucht Blickkontakt und zeigt auf ihre stille, sanfte Art, wie sehr sie dazugehören möchte. Kaya liebt Menschen – und sie liebt es, ihnen zu gefallen. Auf ihrer Pflegestelle lebt Kaya inmitten einer größeren Hundegruppe. Sie ist wunderbar integriert, versteht sich mit Hündinnen ebenso wie mit Rüden und zeigt keinerlei Aggressionen oder Unsicherheiten gegenüber Artgenossen. Kaya ist friedlich, sozial und ausgeglichen – eine Hündin, die Harmonie sucht und findet. Da die Tierschützerin vor Ort von einem Tierarzt besucht wird, hat Kaya seit Jahren kein Auto mehr von innen gesehen und auch die Leinenführigkeit ist eingeschlafen. Das wird im neuen Zuhause behutsam aufgebaut werden müssen. Doch Kaya ist aufmerksam, lernwillig und orientiert sich an ihren Menschen – mit Geduld und liebevoller Führung wird sie auch das meistern. Vom Wesen her ist Kaya eine ruhigere, freundliche und liebenswerte Hündin. Sie braucht keine Action rund um die Uhr, sondern schätzt entspannte Spaziergänge, ein sicheres Umfeld und die Gewissheit, dass sie bleiben darf. Ein Zuhause in ländlicher Umgebung oder am Stadtrand wäre ideal – mit viel Natur, wenig Lärm und der Möglichkeit, die Welt in ihrem Tempo zu entdecken. Kaya spielt übrigens auch gerne mit dem Ball. Wir könnten uns Kaya gut als Zweithund an der Seite eines souveränen Ersthundes vorstellen. Auch eine Familie mit Kindern ab etwa 10 Jahren, die den respektvollen Umgang mit Hunden kennen, wäre denkbar. Und dann ist da noch Flocke – Kayas Gefährtin seit dem ersten Tag. Die beiden haben eine besondere Bindung, die über die Jahre gewachsen ist. Sie verstehen sich blind, geben sich gegenseitig Sicherheit. Flocke ist Kaya im Wesen sehr ähnlich, nur bei Fremden anfangs etwas vorsichtiger, bis das Vertrauen da ist. Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn die beiden gemeinsam in ein neues Leben starten dürften. Kaya hat so viel durchgemacht – und doch hat sie nie aufgehört, an das Gute zu glauben. Jetzt ist sie bereit, endlich anzukommen. Bei Menschen, die ihr zeigen, dass sie gewollt ist. Dass sie geliebt wird. Dass sie bleiben darf. Kaya wird geimpft, gechipt, kastriert und bereits negativ auf Mittelmeerkrankheiten getestet vermittelt.
