Monty is a 7‑year‑old Jack Russell Cross, weighing 7.5kg. Little is known about his early life before he entered a shelter in England and was later transferred to Islay Dog Rescue, where he is now waiting for his forever family. Monty is a lovely, clever boy who walks nicely on the lead and is always curious about the world around him. He is very food‑motivated and will sit politely for a treat — though if you take too long, he may jump to get your attention. His enthusiasm for treats will be a great help with ongoing training. He enjoys toys, but if a treat is available, toys quickly lose their appeal. Due to his natural prey drive, Monty cannot live with children or cats. He may be able to live with another dog, provided introductions are done slowly and carefully. We believe Monty has lived in a home before, as he is comfortable around people and enjoys being touched. He does not like being pulled by his collar, so a harness will be more suitable for him. It is currently unknown whether he is house‑trained. Monty is a fun, affectionate little character with the waggiest tail. He loves playing, sniffing, exploring, and cuddling up with his people. He is also an escape artist — his small size and intelligence means he can always find surprisingly small gaps in fences to squeeze through. Any garden must be fully secure, or he should be kept on a long line to prevent escape attempts. Could you give Monty the loving home he’s been waiting for?
