Due to a family addition, he is not getting the attention he needs and is now searching for a new start. He is appropriately calm for his age and gets along well with small dogs. With large dogs, it depends on the chemistry, but he remains manageable. Generally, he is a friendly dog but needs guidance, so having an existing dog in the new family would be ideal. Okapi requires a lot of closeness and attention, which is typical for a Greyhound—this is something he demands! It's important to be able to provide him with clear daily routines. His prey drive is not strongly pronounced, but there should be no cats in the new home. The boy has early-stage cataracts and chronic eye inflammation. He receives daily drops that help with the redness. The current family would like to continue covering the veterinary costs.

Durch Familienzuwachs bekommt er nicht mehr die Aufmerksamkeit, die er benötigt und macht sich nun auf die Suche. Er ist dem Alter entsprechend ruhig und versteht sich gut mit kleinen Hunden. Bei großen Hunden entscheidet die Sympathie, er bleibt jedoch regulierbar. Generell ist er ein freundlicher Hund, benötigt jedoch Orientierung, sodass ein vorhandener Hund in der neuen Familie ideal wäre. Okapi benötigt Windhund typisch viel Nähe und Aufmerksamkeit - diese fordert er auch ein! Hier ist es wichtig ihm klare Tagesabläufe geben zu können. Sein Jagdtrieb ist wohl nicht mehr stark ausgeprägt, jedoch sollten im neuen Zuhause keine Katzen. Der Bub hat beginnenden Grauen Star und eine chronische Entzündung der Augen. Er bekommt täglich Tropfen, die gegen die Rötung gut helfen. Hier möchte die aktuelle Familie weiterhin für die Tierarztkosten aufkommen.
