Adoptujte Peter

Poodle · Mužský · Dospělý · 5 roky

Překlad bude brzy k dispozici.

Peter is an approximately 5-year-old Poodle cross who is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and is looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue to grow in confidence and learn that the world is a safe place. Having recently spent time in foster care, Peter has shown just how much he wants to love and trust people. In only a few days he made remarkable progress, forming strong bonds and showing his affectionate, gentle nature. He truly is a very sweet boy who will make a wonderful companion for the right person. Peter is fully house trained and travels well in the car. He enjoys his food and settles into a routine quickly, happily eating breakfast and dinner each day. He enjoys treats and chew items, although when he feels worried his instinct for self-preservation outweighs his interest in food. As his confidence grows, he becomes much more willing to take treats directly from your hand. One thing Peter doesn’t seem to have discovered yet is toys or play. At present, he appears happiest simply being close to his person, going for walks and relaxing in a peaceful environment. Walking is one of Peter’s favourite activities. He walks beautifully on the lead and prefers a calm, steady pace. He naturally stays close to his handler and rarely pulls. He is most comfortable in quieter locations and can find busy roads, sudden noises and bustling environments overwhelming. Loud or unexpected sounds can cause him to freeze or become anxious, so he will need patient owners who understand that confidence-building takes time. Peter would thrive in a peaceful home with a secure garden where he can explore, sniff and relax at his own pace. He enjoys watching the world go by and would benefit enormously from having a safe outdoor space of his own. In the home, Peter quickly becomes a loyal little shadow. He enjoys being near his people and settles quietly wherever they are. Over the course of his foster stay, he became increasingly confident, progressing from keeping his distance to seeking out affection, enjoying belly rubs and even coming in for cuddles. He likes company but also appreciates having his own space when he needs it. Peter can be wary of sudden movements, particularly hands reaching over him. Approaching him calmly, crouching down and moving slowly helps him feel safe and secure. Given time and patience, he continues to make wonderful progress and his trust grows a little more each day. Peter does experience some separation anxiety. When left alone he tends to pace and wait for his person rather than settling, although he is not excessively vocal. This is something that his new family will need to continue working on gently and gradually. For this reason, a home where someone is around for much of the day, or a two-person household, may suit him best. Peter cannot live with cats. He showed interest in birds and squirrels during walks and barked when a cat passed the window, suggesting he may have a prey drive towards smaller animals. When it comes to other dogs, Peter would benefit from living with a calm, confident dog who could help show him the way and provide reassurance. He generally copes well around other dogs but may react with a bark and occasionally a growl if another dog reacts negatively towards him. Peter’s ideal home would be a quiet, calm and understanding household without children. He is not suited to a busy or noisy environment and will flourish with patient adopters who are happy to let him settle at his own pace. The progress he has made in such a short time is remarkable and shows just how much potential he has. Above all else, Peter is a lovely little soul who desperately wants to love and be loved. With kindness, patience and understanding, he will reward his new family with unwavering loyalty, affection and companionship.
