WILLOW IS LOCATED IN A FOSTER HOME IN SWEDEN, AND AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN SWEDEN ONLY. Willow was caught with her two puppies from a nature area, after she had been seen wandering around there for months, first without puppies, then together with the puppies. All three were very shy, and it took them a long time to come closer to the humans, and to finally be caught. The puppies took quite a long time compared to other puppies normally in the shelter, to overcome their fears, and to become happy, energetic, active puppies that they are now, but once they went to a foster home, they found their joy. Willow, the mother, came out of her shell quite quickly, and started to enjoy going for walks with a trusted volunteer just a few days after her arrival. Good food, lots of rest and seeing the same faces over and over again, helped them to build trust, and to relax in their new environment. Willow is a very affectionate girl and she falls deep in love with her own human or humans, who she then greets with excited happy dances every day. She loves to hide her face in her humans armpit, and just quietly be together. At first, she was fearful of other people, but with the help of her other dog friends, she is much happier to go for walks also with different people, though she is and most likely will be, shy of brand new people, total strangers approaching her. Walking often with different volunteers is helping her to feel more comfortable around groups of people. Being together with another dog has also helped her to behave more like a happy, relaxed dog, and she LOVES to run around in the dog park, investigating bushes, chasing afetr bugs and jumping over her canine friends like a young deer. She then briefly comes back to the human to check in, and receive a few cuddles before she runs off with her friends again. On walks in more stressy situations, Willow stays very close to her human, and she is very pleasant to walk on the leash. She finds comfort being in physical touch with her humans legs, and feels much more confident then. She does still get startled about sudden things like a car coming quickly, or a bigger group of people being loud, but being together with her trusted human helps her overcome uncertainties. On walks in forests and nature, even when the place is completely new to her, and even when she is without her dog friends, she is very happy to run around, hunt for bugs, and go jogging together with her trusted human. She has now also already travelled in the car and knows the car is taking her to nice places. She is looking for a home near the nature, not in a busy environment. Even though she could also be a single dog, as she really builds a connection with her human, then ideally there would be a second, easygoing, friendly dog in her future home, who will help her adjust quicker to a new environment, and show her the way of happy dog life. Willow's shoulder height is 50cm, and now that her bad eye (trauma-related injury, not an illness) has been operated, she is available for adoption.
