Abby is a lovely older girl who is happiest when life is nice and quiet. She can be worried about being left on her own, so this will need to be built up slowly and at her own pace while she settles into her new home. She enjoys a 30 minute walk each day, but anything more may be a little too much for her, and she is very happy to spend the rest of the day at home having a good snooze! Abby can be quite aloof when meeting new people, especially somewhere unfamiliar, so we would recommend giving her the time and space to approach you when she is ready and build that relationship in her own time. She has had experience visiting children before and could live with secondary school aged children, following a successful meet at the centre. Abby would suit someone who is happy to take things slowly and let her show you what she needs as she gets settled. Meet lovely Abby, an 11 year old Bichon Frise who came into our care through no fault of her own after her owner became very unwell. Abby is a sweet girl who enjoys her toys, lovely walks and little adventures, although she’ll happily let you know when it’s time to head home for a cosy snooze! She can be a little unsure and avoidant when meeting new people or experiencing changes, but with time, patience and reassurance, she’ll start to feel more comfortable. Abby hasn’t had many opportunities to experience the wider world recently, so she’ll need someone who can help her build her confidence gently and at her own pace. She would love a quieter home where she can settle in, and although she may prefer her own space at home, she does enjoy meeting other dogs and would love some doggy friends out on her walks.
