Barney is a real gentleman who loves nothing more than spending time with his people. He enjoys plenty of fuss and affection and is always happy to curl up for a cuddle after a busy day. While he enjoys getting out and about, due to his racing background he prefers shorter, gentler walks rather than long adventures. At home, Barney is a relaxed companion who enjoys the simple things in life. He loves having a potter around, taking in his surroundings, and enjoys short bursts of play in the garden, especially if there's a squeaky toy involved! With his sweet nature, calm personality and loving temperament, Barney is sure to make a wonderful addition to the right family. Barney is a 6-year-old Greyhound and retired racer looking for a calm home where he can enjoy all the comforts of family life. Due to his prey drive, Barney will need a home without cats or small furry pets. He could happily live with another calm dog of a similar size and would benefit from spending time walking alongside other dogs, as he is very polite in their company. Barney could live with sensible secondary school-aged children and would also cope well with primary school-aged children visiting for short periods. He is house-trained and can be left for a couple of hours, although any leaving time should be built up gradually as he settles into his new home.
