When Frappe arrived at our shelter in 2022, she was “the discovery of the season”: incredibly intelligent, intensely social with dogs, and a strong girl with a passion for sports and cooking. After quickly embracing leash walking, we’d hoped that this cool, spirited lady would just as quickly win over someone’s heart—despite her dull coat color and strong personality, which nowadays many people tend to view as a “factory defect.” Unfortunately, months turned into years, and amid the many changes typical of shelter life, Frappe’s situation has remained unchanged: the dog has become an observer of shelter life, though sometimes we notice she’s losing her desire to actively participate in it. Above all, she’s suffering from loneliness—she’s pack-oriented and absolutely needs a canine companion. She loves free movement, and despite spending years behind bars, she still hasn’t adjusted to confined spaces. In her kennel, she spends most of her time on her bed, seeking a better vantage point, but it’s only when she’s out in the run or the park—where nothing restricts her—that she really starts running, playing with other dogs, and savoring a taste of freedom. We’re looking for people who already have a dog at home and can understand the needs of this poor lady, who has spent her entire life remaining invisible. Kiedy Frappe dotarła do nas w 2022 r., była “odkryciem sezonu”: piekielnie inteligentna, intensywna w kontaktach z psami, mocna dziewczyna z zacięciem sportowo-kulinarnym. Po tym, jak szybko przekonała się do chodzenia na smyczy, liczyliśmy, że tak fajna, dziarska suczka równie szybko przekona kogoś do siebie mimo burego umaszczenia i silnego charakteru, który w dzisiejszych czasach ludzie traktują jak defekt fabryczny. Niestety mijały miesiące, zamieniając się w lata i pośród wielu zmian, typowych dla schroniska, sytuacja Frappe jest niezmienna - suczka stała się obserwatorką schroniskowego życia, ale czasem widzimy, że traci chęć, by w nim uczestniczyć. Przede wszystkim doskwiera jej samotność - jest stadna i bezwzględnie potrzebuje psiego towarzysza. Kocha swobodny ruch i mimo lat spędzonych za kratami nadal nie przyzwyczaiła się do ograniczenia przestrzeni - w boksie większość czasu spędza na budzie, by mieć lepszy punkt obserwacyjny, ale dopiero na wybiegu czy w parku, gdy nic jej nie ogranicza, biega, bawi się z psami i cieszy się namiastką wolności.
