Maverick is looking for a quiet home with patient adopters who are prepared to let him settle at his own pace while also keeping up with his training. He could live with secondary school aged children who understand when he needs space and are happy to let him approach them in his own time. As Maverick can be worried by handling and is not yet walking on a lead, he will need a secure private garden where he can safely explore and build confidence before venturing further afield. His new family will need to be prepared to treat him much like a puppy, helping him learn all the basics he missed out on earlier in life, including lead walking, housetraining and building confidence in new situations. Maverick enjoys exploring new environments when given the opportunity and has shown that he loves enrichment activities and using his nose. While he may initially be nervous around new people, he is curious and often chooses to investigate from a safe distance before building trust. Maverick would prefer a calm household with few visitors, especially during his settling-in period, and any time left alone will need to be built up very gradually. With kindness, patience and ongoing training, this lovely boy is beginning to discover that the world isn't such a scary place after all. If you're looking for a rewarding project and would love to watch a nervous dog blossom into a confident companion, Maverick could be the perfect match for you Meet Maverick! This sweet Cockerpoo is looking for an active, patient and understanding home that can help him continue building his confidence. Having come from a hoarding background, Maverick has missed out on many of the experiences most dogs take for granted, so the world can still feel like a big and unfamiliar place. Despite this, he has made fantastic progress in our care and is beginning to show his cheeky, affectionate personality. Once he's comfortable with you, Maverick enjoys spending time with his favourite people and will happily seek out gentle fuss and company. He could potentially live with a calm, confident dog who can help show him the ropes, but he would also be happy as the only dog in the home
